Dell and Google have agreed to install Google software on Dell computers at the factory level. This could be quite a threat to Microsoft.

Executive Loses Job For Being Rude To Secretary
Here's the gist of the matter. The Singaporian executive, president of EMC China, got to the office one late Friday, the door was locked. He e-mailed to his Chinese secretary;
"You locked me out of my office this evening because you assume I have my office key on my person. With immediate effect, you do not leave the office until you have checked with all the managers you support,"
The secretary replied back as follows;
"I locked the door because the office has been burgled in the past. Even though I'm your subordinate, please pay attention to politeness when you speak. This is the most basic human courtesy. You have your own keys. You forgot to bring them, but you still want to say it's someone else's fault."
She copied her reply, along with her boss's original email, to all of the company staff in China.
The incident had become a big issue and the president finally resigned. To me, it seeems like the secretary was rude and way out of her line for cc'ing to everybody.
Never in Korea.

The Generous Recording Industry
So it was illegal to record a song onto a blank cassette tape or a CD and give it to your date or friends? Since when? The recording industry are now saying that's okay. Thanks for telling us.

Review on Samsung's Ultra Mobile PC
Q1, the product of this ambitious joint project by Samsung, Microsoft, and Intel, is not getting any applause from the tech community. Even before this negative review, it was on the news by making all the executives from Samsung, Microsoft(Korea), and Intel(Korea) embarrassed at a news conference (the thing simply wouldn't play the powerpoint files the executives prepared!). Trying to cram too much into this small thingy or maybe too ambitious?

McDonald's Makevoer
Take a look at McDonald's new look (with a couple of the current design). I smell Starbuck's (it's going to have Wi-Fi connectivity, too) but hey, looks much nicer. I hope they didn't use fabric sofas cuz kids will definitely put a lot of ketchup on it.

Google's Double Standards
Earlier I posted a blog about Internet Explorer version 7 beta and how Microsoft and Google are debating on the default search site embedded in the new Exlporer. Here is a post on Google's double standards regarding such issue from the Guaridan. Is Google becoming evil?

The New Internet Explorer - Version 7 (beta)
I've just downloaded Internet Explorer 7 beta. It looks nice and has that tab browsing option just like Firefox. Another feature that's new, which Firefox and Google Toolbar already provide, is the search box right in the upper-right corner of the browser which is set to MSN as a default search site. This has been causing some issues between Google and Microsoft. Unless you haven't set your preferred serach site in your previous Explorer, that search box will show results from MSN. I think I'm on Google's side on this; even if it's so easy to change the default site, and even if the setting will inherit that of the previous version of Explorer, it should be left to the user from the beginning to choose. At least should be asked when the browser is opened the first time and say if the user doesn't have any preference THEN maybe set it to MSN search service.
But enough with all that. I just want the damn IE STABLE!!! IE 6 even died when I was going to take a tour of IE 7 beta!! Good marketing! And this IE 7 beta, it died 3 times already since I've downloaded it about 20 minutes ago. I'm sticking with Firefox. It died again, 4th time.
